You will either love or hate the design of the LG Watch Urbane. As a smartwatch, it offers nothing more or less than other similarly priced Android Wear smartwatches.

Package

Package

Inside the box, you will find the smartwatch (Check on Amazon.com), a USB-micro USB cable, the wall adapter and the magnetic charging base that recharges the smartwatch in about 1 and a half hours.

Build quality

Build quality

The LG Urbane is made of stainless steel and the supplied strap is made of genuine leather. It is available in silver or gold color. It has a sophisticated design and the product is very elegant. It is undoubtedly a product with a lot of character, but also one of those that you either love or hate. The case is big, but also a part of a range of products that are notoriously large. Its size is identical to the G Watch R. The main difference is the slightly rounded edges of the new model.

My impression is that this model wants to be more elegant than what it actually manages to be. On a side note, it is dust and water-resistant.

Hardware

Hardware

Inside the watch, we find a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory for apps and music. It is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 and, this is what makes it stand out from the competition, also Wi-Fi. There is no NFC or GPS, but it has a heartbeat reader that can work with Google Fit or the LG app.

Display

Display

The screen measures 1.3 inches in diameter (since the watch is round) and is made of P-OLED technology. It has a resolution of 320 pixels in diameter. The display seems to be the same as the one found on the G Watch R. It sports a good brightness (which doesn’t adjust automatically) and decent visibility under the sun.

Software

Android Wear is updated to version 5.1.1. There are many new features such as app scrolling by rotating the wrist. It proved to be very useful and now we can’t do without it. The system is fast and buttery smooth and the dials are all quite pleasant.

Battery life

The 410mAh battery offers the same autonomy of other similar devices: 1 and a half days with heavy use.

Price

The LG Watch Urbane is sold for (Check on Amazon.com). If you absolutely love the design, then the price is OK.

Final Verdict

You will either love or hate the design of the LG Watch Urbane. As a smartwatch, it offers nothing more or less than other similarly priced Android Wear smartwatches.
