With the SRS-XB10, Sony reaffirms itself as the world leader in technological production, offering customers products of excellent quality and prestige.

Design and construction quality

Design and construction quality

The true strength of the Sony SRS-XB10 Bluetooth speaker is its compactness (7x8cm – 2.75×3.15in) and lightness (260g – 0.57lb), making it easy to carry and use when traveling or camping outdoors.

The design is modern and eye-catching, the speaker is available in various colors (red, yellow, green, blue, white and black) and is build with anti-shock material made of soft plastic. On the upper side there is a comfortable strap that facilitates transport, attached to a ring that can, in case of need, act as a hook to append the case.

The rubber ring has a size that allows it to be used as a support base for positioning the Sony SRS-XB10 horizontally. This speaker is also waterproof and thanks to its IPX5 certification, can also be used in the water.

At the bottom of the speaker we find the main controls (on/off, volume adjustment, adding an additional speaker and pause/play).

Next to these there is a watertight compartment that contains both the USB port for charging and the 3.5mm audio port. The SRS-XB10 is also equipped with a microphone for making calls equipped with an anti-echo filter.

Performance

Performance

It uses Bluetooth 4.2 technology: stable, fast and easy to set up pairing with both a PC and a smartphone. If you have a device equipped with NFC, just approach it, otherwise you can do it the old fashion way.

The sound quality is good, with deep bass and clear sound. Among the cons is a muted high range, by increasing the volume too much, the audio quality is distorted and the speaker will emit that classic crackling noise (it is still a small speaker).

A particularly interesting and innovative feature is the ability of the speaker to be coupled to a second device, both in dual mode (with monophonic audio) and in stereo mode, with two channels.

The Sony SRS-XB10 Bluetooth speaker has a battery life of about 15-16 hours, and an estimated charging time of about 5 hours.

Verdict

The product, considering the selling price, is absolutely recommended having an excellent quality to price (Check on Amazon.com) ratio. It’s suitable for those who are not too demanding and are not looking for a professional product.
